MIQUEL POWELL, BSW

Executive Director

We are committed to working with those who are recently released from jail or prison, and those struggling with substance use disorders. We also host many initiatives aimed at the re-development of our communities…

The Reentry & Community Development Center, Inc. is the only reentry program that was founded by a person in reentry themselves in the Rochester, NY area. Miquel Powell, BSW was released from NYS prison in 2008 after serving six years in prison for a violent felony in which he also completed three years post-supervision parole.

“I believe that all men and women who have encountered the criminal justice system are salvageable. I wholeheartedly believe that any person struggling with addiction can recover. With the right support and resources people can re-build their lives and do great things in life. Change is possible. I am living proof of that…” – MIQUEL POWELL, BSW

After Mr. Powell’s release he earned an associate’s degree in Human Services from Monroe Community College (2012). He later earned a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport in (2017). Mr. Powell is a current Master’s in Social work student at SUNY Brockport.
